Tabletop Simulations
Tabletop simulations are brief exercises that allow your ED team to think through a pediatric clinical scenario using your medication and equipment reference, while providing a brief structured way to discuss the case. These cases are not meant to be comprehensive, but instead try and focus on not to miss interventions and concepts.
GOAL
-
As a care team, use your ED’s weight-based resources to identify the correct size equipment and FIND and TOUCH the actual equipment.
-
Perform a focused skill relating to the case with the training equipment provided.
The equipment, medications, and policies/protocols that you are asked to identify in these simulations are part of the National Pediatric Readiness Project Checklist designed to improve pediatric readiness in the Emergency Department.
